Convenor's Invitation

On behalf of the organising committee I would like to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 37^th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine to be held in Adelaide in 2007. The Meeting will be held from Saturday the 28 April to Tuesday the 1 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre. There will be a half day Pre-Meeting Symposium on Friday 27 April to be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.

International speakers have always been a draw card for our annual workshops, and in 2007 we have been very fortunate in securing the attendances of four prominent speakers. Firstly, Professor Barry Shulkin from the St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee USA will be enlighten us on paediatric scintigraphy. Secondly, Professor Steve Larson from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, USA will be updating us on the nuclear medicine applications in molecular biology in oncology. Thirdly, Professor Val Lowe of The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota USA will educate us on the application of PET/CT. Our fourth speaker is Dr Sue Clarke from Guy's hospital in the UK who will update us on aspects of therapy.

We have prepared a full on clinical skills symposium with invited experts who will update you on V/Q SPECT, musculoskeletal scintigraphy, nuclear cardiology, brain scintigraphy and cross sectional anatomy. Even if you are unable to attend the entire Meeting, I strongly recommend a day attendance on Saturday 28 April.

Evidently, the 2007 ASM is intended to be educational and stimulating, with broad ranging relevance aiming for a 'something for everyone' approach. Of course, the success of our annual meeting is also very dependent on you, the practitioners of Nuclear Medicine.

Thus I invite you to actively participate by attending our Meeting, presenting your scientific work and exchanging ideas with your peers.
