On behalf of the organising committee I would like to extend to you a warm invitation to attend the 37^th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine to be held in Adelaide in 2007.

The conference will be held from Saturday, 28 April to Tuesday, 1 May at the Adelaide Convention Centre. There will be a pre-conference symposium on Friday, 27 April to be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide.

International speakers have always been a draw card for our annual workshops, and in 2007 we have been very fortunate in securing the attendances of 4 prominent speakers. Firstly, Professor Barry Shulkin from the St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee USA will be enlighten us on paediatric scintigraphy, with a particular emphasis on endocrinology. Secondly, Professor Steve Larson from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York, USA will be updating us on the nuclear medicine applications in molecular biology in oncology. Thirdly, Professor Val Lowe of The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota USA will educate us on the application of PET/CT and image fusion. Our fourth invited speaker is Dr Sue Clarke from Guy's hospital in the UK who will bring us up to date on aspects of therapy in nuclear medicine.

Of the interstate guests, we have invited Dr Paul Roach from the Royal North Shore NSW to update us on his team's work in lung V/Q SPECT. Dr Steve Allwright of Dee Why Nuclear Medicine in NSW will be educating us on musculo-skeletal scintigraphy.

If the expertise of our guest speakers is any indication, the 2007 ASM is intended to be broad ranging with hopefully fulfilling a "something for everyone" objective, and as such the organising committee has chosen not to have a specific theme. Of course the success of our annual workshop is also very dependent on you, the practitioners of nuclear medicine. Thus I would like ask you to actively participate by attending our conference, presenting your scientific work and exchange ideas with your peers.
